Another unwired opportunity (flying over the Atlantic) to update ffwd, and the rest of the European trip went really well. It's wonderful to see family again in England (it'd be nice if I didn't live so far from them, or them from me, but c'est la vie, I guess.)
So, the remainder of WOS was great. Managed to wander round the Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie while in Berlin, then meandered to the airport (in time for flight, though my taxi had a small accident on the way there, after somebody opened their car door onto us.)
From there, flew into London, had a marvellously relaxing time at my parents, went out for a nice pub dinner or two, did some remote working, had some nice phone conversations with a couple of old friends (and Kieron from CAPS Project, who's given us a whole new angle on the game archiving thing that I'm _really_ excited about), bought about a hundredweight of UK-only crisps (mm, Space Raiders!) and sweets, and then disappeared off catch a flight again.
Hm, so the next few weeks will be (briefly!) unwinding, finishing up (extensive) final edits on the book, working on a couple of slightly overdue Gamasutra pieces, carrying on with the regular Slashdot and IA shenanigans, and most tantalizingly, getting further into development on NewSecretProject(tm), which is related to games, and distributing them, and... can't say much more right now, but it promises to be a lot of fun and we'll hopefully, uhh, initially break even or make a little beer money, too :P Eventually, of course, the world is our lobster.
